Lucien Crochet - Sancerre Les Calcaires

Les Calcaires is Lucien Crochet's expression of Sancerre from the Loire, named for the limestone (calcaire) soils that give the appellation its mineral backbone. As with all white Sancerre, the wine is made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc, grown on the chalky slopes above the Loire river.

Expect taut, precise fruit with citrus and orchard notes over a chalky, mineral core. Serve well chilled at 10-12°C as an aperitif or alongside shellfish, goat's cheese and other classic Loire pairings that favour bright, focused whites.
