Domaine Catherine & Pierre Breton - Pierres Rousses - Vouvray

Catherine and Pierre Breton are among the Loire's most respected biodynamic producers, based in Bourgueil but also working with Chenin Blanc in Vouvray. Pierres Rousses — 'red stones' — takes its name from the tuffeau soils that define the appellation's character.

At 14% ABV this is a substantive, structured Chenin: expect quince, beeswax and wet stone, with the textural weight to stand up to rich poultry, oily fish or a well-aged goat's cheese. It works equally well alongside brie or simply roasted white fish where you want a wine with genuine presence on the palate.
