Jacques Selosse - Initial - Blanc de Blancs - Brut - Grand Cru - DG

Jacques Selosse is among the most influential grower-producers in Champagne, and Initial is his entry-point non-vintage Blanc de Blancs, assembled from Grand Cru Chardonnay grown on the Côte des Blancs under biodynamic principles. Selosse's wines are vinified with an almost Burgundian rigour — extended oxidative ageing, reserve wines via solera, and minimal intervention throughout.

Expect a wine of uncommon depth for a Blanc de Blancs: beeswax, toasted hazelnut, dried citrus peel and saline minerality over a taut, textured mousse. Rich enough to carry seared scallops, Dover sole or aged Comté, yet precise enough to open any serious meal at sea.
