Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Capita has a crisp, very vibrant and delineated bouquet with pure red cherry, wild strawberry and orange blossom scents that unfurl in the glass. There is great terroir expression in situ. The palate is very well balanced with taut tannin, superb acidity, real drive and poise with a gorgeous, lightly spiced, elegant and graceful finish that does not shortchange you on flavor.
